On the 13th and 14th November 2024, the AKU International Patient Workshop brought people from around the globe to Liverpool, UK, for an inspiring mix of science, practical tools and community spirit.
The programme highlights included:

- A live controlled protein cooking demonstration
- A fascinating talk on the history of AKU
- Mindfulness-based approaches
- Water exercises for AKU
- Chair-based Pilates and nutritional guidance tailored to the condition
Beyond the sessions, the workshop offered a unique opportunity to connect with others affected by AKU, share experiences, and build friendships that reached across borders. Meals and refreshments were thoughtfully prepared by expert chefs using seasonal, local ingredients, all suitable for a protein-controlled diet.
